Bealls raises nearly $75000 for water education
23 March 2011BRADENTON -- Bealls Department Stores Inc., in partnership with the USA Swimming Foundation, raised nearly $75,000 in a statewide fundraiser to benefit the Foundation's Make A Splash program, a national child-focused water-safety initiative that aims to provide the opportunity for every child in America to learn to swim
Bealls presented the donation check to USA Swimming Foundation representative Mel Stewart on April 1 at the Tampa Bay Turners' swimming pool in St. Petersburg. Stewart, an Olympic gold medalist, holds the record in the United States for winning the most national championships (14) in one event, and has worked with the USA Swimming Foundation for the last two years.
